The Board of Directors for FCCSA reviewed the recommendations from FCCSA staff and approved the new enforcement policy at the June 28, 2023, board meeting. The new enforcement policy increases the fines from $200 per month to $400 per month and limits the number of fine waivers to (1) waiver every 12 months whereas before FCCSA would waive 90% of a fine once the violation was cured. This policy change goes into effect on September 1, 2023.
The hope is that this policy change will encourage homeowners to not wait so long to cure their violations, and that we will see a reduction in the amount of time a violation stays open, reducing the effect that it has on the community.
