The ZooMobile will be at the Aquatic Center Park, 4350 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, on Saturday, November 9th from 10 am – 1 pm. The Zoomobile provides an opportunity for you to get up close and interact with the zoo’s ambassador animals. Connect with a variety of animals such as a chinchilla, screech owl, porcupine and many more. Learn what they eat and how they are cared for as a member of the Houston Zoo family. We’ll surprise you with a selection of delightful critters as it is not possible to reserve specific animals. Other activities will include face painting and a bounce house.
Join us on Saturday, November 16th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. for the 11th Annual Operation Thanksgiving “Stuff the Squad Car and Fire Truck” at the Missouri City Public Safety Headquarters located at 3849 Cartwright Rd, Missouri City. The men and women of the Missouri City Police and Fire Department need your help to stuff 10 squad cars and 2 fire trucks, with canned food and non-perishable items. Come join the City of Sugar Land for the Annual Christmas tree lighting on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. The steps of Sugar Land Town Square (15958 City Walk) will light up with holiday cheer and entertainment as Mr. and Mrs. Claus bring their holiday magic to Sugar Land Town Square. This event is free and open to the public. The fun will include: holiday crafts and activities face painting performances by local artists and choirs photos with Santa food and beverages available for purchase Gather with family and friends around the spectacular 40-foot Christmas tree located in the middle of Town Square plaza to help Santa and Mrs. Claus usher in the holiday season with the lighting of the tree. Missouri City Snowfest Festival Friday, December 6 5:30-9:00 pm City Hall Complex (1522 Texas Parkway) Cost: Free Pre-festival entertainment will kick off the event at 5:30 pm and will follow with the tree lighting ceremony and fireworks! From 6-9 pm, guests are invited to enjoy the array of event activities including the 3-lane snow hill, holiday light trail, crafts, & photos with Santa! To support area families in need this holiday season, the Missouri City Police Department will be onsite to collect unwrapped toys for the annual Blue Santa Toy Drive. All donations can be dropped off by the Christmas tree.
Snowfest Parade Saturday, December 7 9:00 a.m. Cartwright Road Cost: Free Join us for the 36th annual Snowfest Parade! The two-mile-long procession will feature floats decorated in holiday themes, and various organizations on foot! The parade will begin at the Public Safety Headquarters located on the corner of Cartwright Road and Murphy Road. Roads will close at 7:15 a.m. surrounding parade route. Community organizations that would like to participate in the Snowfest Parade are invited to complete the parade application and submit to Kyle Frye at email@example.com.
Who says it doesn’t snow in First Colony? The forecast shows it will be “snowing” on Saturday, December 14th when the “Winter Blast” Event comes to First Colony. First Colony Community Services Association (FCCSA) is hosting the event from 10 am – 2 pm next to the small parking lot at 4350 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land. Residents are invited to come and play in the artificial “snow”! Ninety thousand pounds of shaved ice (“snow”) will be blown in for kids of all ages to enjoy. Activities will include sledding, 2 play areas for toddlers and older kids (divided by age), inflatables, face painters, music and a rock wall. Take a holiday picture! The “snow” is actually made from shaved ice and blown in, so it will contain some chunks of ice and harden when it starts to melt.
