Have you ever heard of pickleball but wondered what it is and how to play? FCCSA would like to introduce a sport growing in popularity nationwide, pickleball. Pickleball is a mix between ping-pong, badminton and tennis. The game is easy to play and can be played by players with little to no experience.
Pickleball courts are smaller than standard tennis courts which allows younger players and players with limited mobility the opportunity to participate. The sport has become very popular with senior adults and is growing on high school and college campuses as well.
FCCSA has built two new courts located at the Lexington Colony facility at 1314 Sheffield Dr. If you have a tennis key already, that key will work on the pickleball courts also. If you do not have a key, you can pick it up at the FCCSA main office at 4350 Austin Parkway. The cost is a $20 deposit (check only). Please bring a proof of residency of either a current driver’s license, a utility bill or a rental agreement. The pickleball courts will utilize the new reservation system used for the Tennis Courts – AppointmentPlus. The link is https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/b6L56ers. You will need to create an account when you visit the first time. After you register, FCCSA will be notified and then will confirm that you are a resident of FCCSA. After we confirm your residence, you will be able to start reserving a court. Please allow until the next business day for us to confirm your registration if you register after hours or over the weekend. Limit of two registrations per household.
